About this test
The Blood Group & Rhesus Factor Test determines an individual's blood group according to the ABO blood group system and identifies the Rhesus (Rh) factor as positive or negative. Knowing your blood group is important for maintaining accurate medical records and may be required before certain medical procedures, during pregnancy care, for blood transfusion planning, and in other clinical situations. The test is performed using a blood sample collected and analysed by qualified laboratory personnel using established laboratory procedures. Your result will indicate your ABO blood group, such as A, B, AB, or O, together with your Rhesus factor.
